FAQ

I'm not very flexible,
can I still practice yoga?

Yoga really is for every body, flexibility is something that develops as a result of yoga, it is by no means a requirement in order to begin!

After just a few classes, you’ll feel a difference in your flexibility, mobility AND strength!

I'm Pregnant. Can I start yoga?

Our pre-natal yoga classes are suitable for absolute beginners, and because they're gentle you're welcome to start at ANY time. Whether it’s your first, second or third trimester; yoga is safe to practice all the way up until your baby arrives to relieve aches, pains and prepare the mind and body for birth and life as a new mother.  If you were not doing yoga prior to your pregnancy, we do not recommend starting a general yoga or flow class during your pregnancy.  For students who DO have a practice and attend our non-pregnancy yoga classes – please let your teacher know discreetly, even if you’re just a few weeks along – the first trimester is the most delicate!

Are men allowed to do the classes?

Absolutely! Yoga was originally developed BY MEN FOR MEN! Men are welcome at any of our drop-in classes or beginner courses - whether you are new, experienced, young or old!

I've never practiced yoga before, do I need to do the beginners series first?

Not necessarily, you are welcome to join any of our classes, a SLOW FLOW or a YIN class are a good place to start. However the beginners series will provide the skills to get you started and is a good way to refresh your skills if it's been a while since you've been on the mat.

What should I wear to my first yoga class?

Clothing which is lightweight and that you can move easily in. In summer, you might bring a hand towel in case it’s sweaty. In the winter, we recommend wearing layers - bring a jumper or long sleeved top plus some socks to wear for savasana (relaxation).

Do I need to bring my own yoga mat?

For health reasons, we ask you to please bring one if you have one, otherwise we have complimentary Manduka studio mats which we ask you to wipe down after use. We do ask that you to bring a large towel to place over the bolsters if you’re attending a yin or restorative class.
