The Art of Rest: Restorative Yoga + Yoga Nidra Teacher Training

The practice of restorative yoga is a radical shift away from what has become the norm in modern yoga offerings where the aim of restorative practices is to do much less or nothing at all.

In this Continuing Education Training, both practitioners and yoga teachers learn how to deliver effective restorative yoga classes within a variety of settings suited to all bodies. Discover the science of yogic sleep, sharing Yoga Nidra as an accompaniment to restorative yoga or as a practice entirely on its own.

  • Connect with yogic principles such as ahimsa (non-harming), metta (loving-kindness), and svadhyaya (self-study).

  • The Purpose + Principals of Restorative Yoga

  • Mechanisms of Restorative Yoga: Physiology

  • How to utilise props effectively for Restorative Yoga practice

  • Restorative Yoga Asana + Therapeutic Application

  • Sequencing for Restorative Yoga

  • Yoga Nidra Theory + Practice

  • Purpose of Sankalpa

  • Stages of Yoga Nidra

  • How to write your own Yoga Nidra scripts

This 20-hour specialty training includes a 20-page teaching manual with inspiration and insight to further your understanding of The Art of Rest as well as access to our online learning portal with additional resources.

Learn how to:

  • Develop confidence and ease in connecting with students of varying levels of experience.

  • Create a safe space from which to share yoga Nidra and Restorative Yoga practices.

  • Experience the joy of giving and receiving assistance from other experienced students and teachers.

  • Bring renewed attention to the breath and the voice as tools for your teaching.

  • Practice restorative asanas and experience yoga Nidra.

Aimed at yoga teachers, both new and experienced, this workshop will be a combination of theory, and lectures that provide the context to explore the practical application of putting into practice what you have learned with other teachers and practitioners.

This Professional Development Workshop is eligible for teachers to receive CPD points.
